AI features terms
Last updated: October 18, 2026 · Infinite Ventures LLC, doing business as BaylineThese AI Features Terms are part of the Bayline Terms of Service (the "Agreement") and apply whenever you enable or use an AI Feature. Terms not defined here have the meanings in the Agreement.
1. What the AI Features are
"AI Features" means functionality in the Service that uses machine learning or generative artificial intelligence, including:
- the AI phone assistant, which answers, records and transcribes calls to your shop's Bayline number, answers questions from information you provide, books estimate appointments, takes messages, and transfers callers to your staff;
- the AI text assistant and AI-drafted replies, which suggest or (where you enable it) send responses to texts and emails;
- summaries, classifications and extraction, such as summarizing conversations, filtering spam, and reading imported estimating-system files and photographs; and
- any other feature we identify as AI-powered.
"AI Output" means any text, speech, summary, classification, draft, booking, extracted data or other content an AI Feature produces.
2. AI can be wrong
AI Output is generated automatically and probabilistically. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, inappropriate, or inconsistent, and it may misunderstand callers — especially on poor phone lines, with background noise, accents, or other languages. The assistant may mishear names, numbers, dates or times, book the wrong slot, or fail to transfer a call. Bayline does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability or suitability of any AI Output.
3. You are responsible for AI Output used in your name
- Review. You are responsible for reviewing AI Output before relying on it, and for monitoring bookings, messages, call summaries and transcripts generated in your shop's name. Where you choose to let an AI Feature send messages or make bookings without prior human review, you accept responsibility for that choice and its results.
- Configuration. You are responsible for the information, hours, prices, policies, greetings and instructions you give the AI Features, and for keeping them accurate. AI Output based on inaccurate configuration is your responsibility.
- Your statements. Anything an AI Feature says or sends to an End Customer on your behalf is your communication (see Agreement Sections 5 and 7).
- No professional advice. AI Features do not provide legal, insurance, financial, safety or repair advice, and must not be relied on for those purposes.
4. Estimates, prices and promises
- Any price range, ballpark or estimate produced with AI, including from photographs, is a preliminary indication for your staff and, if you choose to share it, your preliminary statement to your customer. It is not a binding estimate, not Bayline's statement, and does not replace inspection and your written estimate.
- The AI phone assistant is designed not to quote prices it was not given, not to say what insurance covers, and not to promise completion dates, and to hand those questions to your staff. These design goals are not guarantees.
- You will not configure or instruct an AI Feature to make binding offers, coverage determinations, or promises of completion dates.
5. Disclosure and recording
- The AI phone assistant begins each call by stating that the caller is speaking with an automated assistant and that the call is recorded, for example: "Thanks for calling [Shop name]. You're speaking with our automated assistant, not a person, and this call is recorded." You must not disable or change this disclosure to remove either statement, and you must not instruct any AI Feature to claim to be human or to deny being automated when asked.
- Several states (including Nevada, for telephone calls, and California) require all parties' consent to record a call. The opening disclosure is designed to give notice so a caller who continues the call consents. You are responsible for any additional notice or consent required in your situation, for example where you transfer a call to staff who continue recording.
- If you use AI Features to send text or chat messages to people in states with AI-disclosure or bot-disclosure laws (such as California and Utah), you are responsible for making the disclosures those laws require. The Service provides disclosure language you may use.
6. Outbound calls and messages
AI-generated voices are "artificial" voices under the TCPA. You may use an AI Feature to place outbound calls or send automated messages only with the recipient's prior express consent (prior express written consent for marketing), within permitted hours, and in compliance with the Agreement and the AUP.
7. Restrictions
You will not use AI Features: to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without meaningful human review; to impersonate a real person or another business; to generate unlawful, deceptive or harmful content; to attempt to extract prompts, models or system configuration; or in violation of the AUP.
8. Data
- Inputs to AI Features (such as calls, messages, photographs and files) and AI Output are Customer Data and are handled under the Agreement and the DPA.
- AI Features are operated by Bayline and by AI service providers acting on our behalf as our subprocessors.
- Bayline does not sell Customer Data and does not use it to train its own AI models.
- Bayline may use Service-generated signals that do not contain Customer Data content (such as whether a draft was edited before sending, or whether a booking succeeded) to measure and improve the AI Features for you.
9. Ownership of output
As between the parties, and to the extent rights exist, you own AI Output generated from your Customer Data. AI Output may not be unique, and similar output may be generated for others. Bayline owns the AI Features, prompts, models, configurations and improvements.
10. Bayline's own AI agents
Bayline uses AI tools to help draft its own support and sales emails to Shops and prospective Shops. These tools are configured and supervised by Bayline staff. Some routine support replies may be sent without individual review, within limits Bayline sets. A support reply drafted by AI does not change the Agreement, waive any right, or grant any credit, refund or commitment unless confirmed in writing by an authorized Bayline representative.
11. Changes
AI technology changes quickly. We may change, replace or retire AI Features or the models and providers behind them. We will give notice of changes that materially reduce an AI Feature you pay for, as provided in the Agreement.
12. Disclaimer
AI FEATURES AND AI OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND ARE SUBJECT TO THE DISCLAIMERS, LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITIES IN THE AGREEMENT.
